His stepfather indicted and imprisoned

The investigation into the death of Marlown Laborde, a young footballer, is accelerating. Indeed, our colleagues from Parisian revealed that the victim’s stepfather, an American in his thirties, was indicted for homicide and imprisoned. As a reminder, the facts took place in Vignoc (Ille-et-Vilaine), a town located about twenty kilometers north of Rennes. “Presented to the investigating magistrate, he was indicted because of the serious and consistent evidence found (in particular the presence of blood belonging to the victim in the house) and was placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention in accordance with the requisitions of the public prosecutor’s office”informed the public prosecutor of Rennes.

It was local residents who had warned the emergency services after discovering the body of the teenager, born in 2006, in front of his home, this Sunday, August 28. The victim had significant injuries. The medical examiners concluded that his death had occurred after suffering several lesions and a depression of the cranial box. The day of the discovery of the death of Marlown Laborde, his stepfather had been placed in police custody under the qualification of voluntary homicide. The suspect, in his thirties and with no criminal record, “confirmed his presence at the family home at the end of the night but denied being the author of the facts”said prosecutor Philippe Astruc.

The suspect, of American nationality, had four children with the mother of the young deceased, underlined our colleagues from West France. He faces life imprisonment. Marlown Laborde’s club, As Vignoc Hédé Guipel Foot, announced the death of this young player “a U16”also “director invested in young categories”. “Marlown was passionate about football, lived for football. He was appreciated by all the generations present within the ASVHG (…) Our thoughts go out to his close family and friends.”wrote the football club on its Facebook account on Tuesday August 30.
