One of the best must-see Netflix fantasy series, stranger things made a lot of noise in 2022 with its season 4. Barely two months after the broadcast of the last episode of this fourth season, the Duffer brothers are already writing the 5th season. An ultimate season that all the fans are waiting for on a firm footing to see the conclusion of the adventures of eleven and his friends. But will season 5 have as many episodes as season 4? The producers responded.

Stranger Things, season 5: fewer episodes than season 4

The spread of the Season 4 of Stranger Things surprised all fans of the series. This one was indeed divided into two parts of 4-5 episodes of 64 to 150 minutes. Even if the events were up to and even beyond expectations, the length of the episodes still had the merit of being singled out. But the duffer brothers we assured, season 5 will be shorter than season 4. A news that should already delight more than one.

The confirmation came via a tweet on the screenwriters’ Twitter account @strangerwriters.

I think we want eight episodes again. But we don’t want this season to last 13 hours. We’re aiming for 10 hours or something like that. I think it’s going to be longer than season 1 because we have a lot to wrap up, but I don’t think it’s going to be as long as season 4.

In the tweet shared by the writers on their account, we can see a table grid with 8 episodes. This suggests that the Season 5 of Stranger Things will have one less episode than season 4, and same number of episodes as seasons 1 and 3.

According to the revelations of Ross and Matt Duffer in the podcast Happy Sad ConfusedSeason 5 of Stranger Things will take place in its entirety at Hawkins. This will be an opportunity to conclude the various micro-stories in the best possible way.

We want to go back to a lot of the stuff that we did in Season 1. A lot of the original bands and duos that we had in Season 1 – to come full circle.

A return to the source which should make it possible to review other characters or to evoke certain events from previous seasons. Anyway, if old characters didn’t come back, at least we’re sure of one thing: there will be no new characters in season 5.
