Monkey pox: preventive vaccines against “Monkeypox” offered at the Béziers hospital center
The Béziers hospital center, through the Cegidd (Free information, screening and diagnostic centres), located at Espace Perréal, has been committed for several weeks to offering preventive vaccination to people most at risk of exposure to “Monkeypox virus”, the famous monkey pox.
In accordance with the opinion of the High Authority for Health issued on July 8, vaccination is offered as a priority to people in post-exposure around a confirmed case, to men who have sex with men (MSM) and people transsexuals reporting multiple sexual partners, to people in a situation of prostitution, as well as to professionals in places of sexual consumption, regardless of the status of these places.
People most at risk of exposure
For this vaccination, people must come with a prescription from their doctor.
As a reminder, Cegidd provides information, prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment activities for sexually transmitted infections such as HIV, hepatitis B and C, the herpes virus, papilloma virus, syphilis, as well as certain bacteria (gonococcus, chlamydiae, mycoplasma).
