This is the big return of the event! The 79th edition of the Venice International Film Festival, La Mostra, is being held this year from August 31 to September 10, 2022 and the starting shot was lightning. The opening ceremony was marked by the screening of the film White noiseby Noah Baumbach, horror comedy adapted from the novel Background noise by Don DeLillo. She also honored Catherine Deneuve, who received, from the hands of Roberto Cicutto, an Honorary Golden Lion for her entire career.

To receive this five-star award, Catherine Deneuve had opted for a very pretty red dress, from the Saint Laurent collections. It was thus granted to the carpet installed on the floor of the Lido of Venice, which was trodden by a large number of celebrities that evening. Were thus present: Greta Gerwig, Don Cheadle, Bridgid Coulter, Jodie Turner-Smith, Raffey Cassidy, Emma Chamberlain, Grace Elizabeth, Mélanie Laurent, – divine in a pink dress spangled with gold and twirling -, Barbara Palvin, Dylan Sprouse, Julianne Moore, Pixie Lott, Oliver Cheshire, Alessandra Ambrosio, Hillary Clinton. Mariacarla Boscono had opted for a transparent dress that showed her chest and almost her entire body for that matter. There was also Isabeli Fontana, Tessa Thompson, Roberto Cicutto, Adam Driver, Rocio Munoz Morales, Elisa Sednaoui, Bianca Brandolini D’Adda, Christian Louboutin, Melita Toscan du Plantier and Greta Ferro.

The film White noiseby Noah Baumbach, is a Netflix exclusive that screened exceptionally for audiences at the Venice International Film Festival. It is presented, in competition, against 22 other feature films. To decide who will leave the festival victorious, it will be necessary to turn to the side of the jury. This year, it is the incredible and talented Julianne Moore who chairs the delegation, surrounded by the French director Audrey Diwan, the Argentinian Mariano Cohn, the Italian Leonardo Di Costanzo, the Iranian actress Leila Hatami, the British-Japanese screenwriter Kazuo Ishiguro and Spaniard Rodrigo Sorogoyen.
