Jonas Vingegaard (already) victorious in Croatia for his return to competitors!

Profitable return for the winner of the Tour de France 2022! Jonas Vingegaardwho had not raced since his coronation on the Grande Boucle, gained the third stage of the Tour of Croatia on Thursday on the high of a brutal ascent. The 25-year-old Dane beat the younger scottish Oscar Onley (DSM, 19) and the Slovenian Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious).

Seven riders took to their heels in the beginning of the race with the Slovenian Nik Cemazar (Adria Mobil), the Briton Mark Christian (Eolo-Kometa), the Bosnian Vedad Karic (Meridiana Kamen), the Pole Tobiasz Pawlak (HRE Mazowsze Serce Polski), Croatian Viktor Potocki (Ljubljana Gusto Santic), Swiss Mathias Reutimann (Group Vorarlberg) and Italian Manuele Tarozzi (Bardiani-CSF).

The main males have been lastly caught 17 km from the end. The favourite groups then picked up the tempo and, in a summit end after a gravel part, Vingegaard put his acceleration within the last meters to edge Oscar Onley and Matej Mohoric.

Vingegaard, 25, gained the eleventh victory of his profession, the sixth this season. The Dane is contesting his first race in Croatia since profitable the Tour de France on the finish of July in preparation for the Tour of Lombardy on October 8.

Within the basic classification, Milano retains the general lead with a one-second lead over Vingegaard and 5 seconds over Onley.
