“He is someone who must have traveled and contracted dengue fever before returning to Saint-Jeannet. And how it spreads with mosquito bites…” analyzes the mayor of the town Julie Charles, contacted by telephone.

On this back-to-school day, she obviously went through the Prés school, an area in which the two most recent cases were discovered. “All parents have been informed”delivers the first magistrate of the village who assures that dengue fever “it remains benign”.

People with “started their symptoms between August 7 and 18 and are all located in the same sector of the town, again confirming the circulation of the virus in this area”communicated the ARS which affirmed that “no case showed signs of seriousness”.

However, Julie Charles asks the inhabitants to be “vigilant to prevent the disease from continuing to spread”. For this, it is recommended to be careful, on your property, not to let water stagnate. And “in the context of school: dress children in light, long and loose clothing”continue the chosen one.

Precautionary measures at school

The services of the ARS and its service provider EID Méditerranée will carry out the mosquito control operation in the area of ​​the Prés school on Monday 5 September. The services of the town hall of Saint-Jeannet will come Monday morning to rinse the objects in the schoolyard that cannot be brought inside. “Children will not be allowed out in the playground on Monday September 5 until 1 p.m. as a precautionary measure”says Mohamed Benaissa, General Manager of Services.
