We already knew that tea is good for skin problems like acne, sagging skin, wrinkles, but according to an American study, black tea is also good for your life expectancy. In any case, this is what American researchers from the National Institutes of Health reveal in a new study..
The researchers found that tea is a widely consumed beverage across the world, but there are no studies on the link between black tea consumption and mortality risk.
For 11 years, they followed nearly 500,000 inhabitants of the United Kingdom aged 40 to 69, 85% of them said they drank tea regularly and 89% of them said they drank black tea.
The result of this study is simple: people who consume two or more cups of black tea a day have a 9 to 13% lower risk of mortality than people who do not consume this beverage. Similar conclusions for people who drink their tea with milk or sugar, regardless of the temperature of the drink.
And for good reason, black tea is very rich in active bio compounds such as flavonoids and polyphenols, whose health benefits are well established.
However, the study has limitations since some aspects such as portion size and potency of the tea were not assessed.
Two cups of black tea a day to ensure longevity. However, the study does not say whether the black tea in a black tea and dried fruit cake retains its properties.
