The Swiss Gerry Hofstetter paid this Saturday an unique tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8.

The queen is in heaven. Actually. A Swiss artist projected this Saturday within the sky of Bern a picture of Elizabeth II, within the firm of her husband Philip II, who died in April 2021. The work was produced in partnership with the British Embassy.

“In a shifting tribute to Her Majesty The Queen, world-renowned Swiss artist Gerry Hofstetter has lit up the skies of Switzerland, with a heartwarming picture of Her Majesty The Queen and Prince Philip,” the British Embassy tweeted.

Thrown into the clouds

The work, made up of a number of pictures of the Queen and titled journey within the stars (Voyager vers les étoiles), was projected 9 kilometers into the clouds, above Lauterbrunnen, a municipality within the canton of Bern.

Buried Monday together with her husband

Queen Elizabeth II, who handed away peacefully at Balmoral on September 8, shall be buried privately on Monday in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Citadel, west London, subsequent to her father. King George VI and his husband Prince Philip.

Since Wednesday, the general public has been queuing in London to pay their respects and meditate for a couple of minutes in entrance of his coffin on show in Westminster Corridor till Monday morning.

The Queen’s funeral shall be held at Westminster Abbey on Monday noon, within the presence of heads of state from around the globe.
