The tournament held in New York began with the morning session matches.

In the first round of men’s singles, defending champion Medvedev took on Stefan Kozlov at No. 111 in the world rankings. Medvedev won the field 3-0 (6-2, 6-4, 6-0).

Jeffrey John Wolf in 87th place in the standings achieved an unexpected result by beating Roberto Bautista (seeded 16) 6-4 in the first round, 3-0.

Casper Ruud (5) beat Kyle Edmund, Matteo Berrettini (13), Nicolas Jarry, Andy Murray of Francisco Cerundolo (24) 3-0 and made his mark in the 2nd round.

Wu Yibing, who beat Nikoloz Basilashvili (31) 3-0, became the first Chinese male tennis player to win a Grand Slam singles main table since 1959.

Daria Snigur, ranked 124th in the Women’s World Rankings, knocked out 7th seed Simona Halep in the first round. Snigur, 20, who advanced to the main draw in qualifying, won the match 2-1 with sets 6-2, 0-6 and 6-4.

Maria Sakkari (3) went to the 2nd round with a score of 2-1 (6-4, 3-6, 6-0) even though she struggled against world 85th Tatjana Maria, who made the semi-finals at Wimbledon this year.

Coco Gauff (12) beat Leolia Jeanjean and Caroline Garcia (17), who rose to prominence by winning the Cincinnati Masters, continued her momentum by beating Kamilla Rakhimova 2-0.

Beatriz Haddad Maia (15) and Veronika Kudermetova (18) also got their ticket to the second round.
