Miller dreams of “winning one” before leaving Ducati
Jack Miller hopes to add a fourth success in MotoGP to his record, a third with Ducati, before leaving for new horizons. With a certain irony, it’s been since the beginning of June, when the Italian manufacturer confirmed its desire to replace him with Enea Bastianini or Jorge Martín (a choice finally made in recent days in favor of the Italian) and that he signed up with KTM that the Australian regained the forefront.
The Barcelona test has indeed initiated a click to the point that Miller describes it as a “revelation”. In the four Grands Prix that followed, he finished third three times. He was also on the podium in Assen before losing places at the end of the event, despite his second long lap in as many races. The Ducati rider feels in great shape and hopes to take advantage of the overseas tour, on circuits he enjoys, to win one last time in red.
“I felt like I could fight [pour la victoire en Autriche] and that’s already something”welcomed Miller on the official MotoGP website. “We approach the races with confidence, knowing that we can fight for it. It didn’t turn out in my favor [au Red Bull Ring] but good races are coming… Phillip Island is on the program so I’m going to give it my all in this one! Incredible tracks are coming and a few more opportunities to win more. I hope to win one before changing colors.”
“The list [des courses qui vont être favorables à Ducati] is endless”added the Australian at a press conference at Spielberg, showing his pleasure to soon find his audience for the first time in three years: “I can’t wait to go back overseas, on my side of the globe. These Europeans have had all the races on their side of the planet for two years so it will be nice to come back to the other side!”

To achieve his goal, Jack Miller will be able to count on a Ducati in great shape and which Pecco Bagnaia has taken to victory in each of the last three races. The Italian is only the second driver to achieve such a series with a Desmosedici and his success combined with the good form of his teammate generate a very good atmosphere in the factory team. The announced departure of Miller does not seem to have in any way affected this dynamic and Ducati has even promised to continue to equip its motorcycle with upgrades.
“The team is in great shape right now. Pecco has won three races in a row. To match Casey [Stoner, le dernier à avoir réalisé cette performance avec Ducati, ndlr]it shows his current level of riding, especially with the level of MotoGP at the moment. It’s amazing to do that at this time. Congratulations to him and the whole team.” greets the Australian, without any sourness.
“It’s amazing to be a part of this. Even if I play the role of number two – Goose compared to Maverick! -, I hope that we will keep this dynamic and these good vibes in the team until the end of the season. end of the year, because I think when we’re happy like that and it’s going that well, the results of the team are all the better, as well as the morale in the garage. pass, everyone is super happy to work and achieve such incredible results.”
