Someone looks a bit like me.’The mother-of-two added:I had read this article about Halle Berry, and they were asking her how she felt being treated as a mixed-race woman in the world (…) So she said that because she was darker in color, she was being treated like a black woman, not like a mixed-race woman. And I think for us it’s very different because we’re fair-skinned. You are not treated like a black woman. You’re not treated like a white woman. You kind of fall between the two.“

Meghan Markle: ‘Things have really changed’

In full transparency, the Duchess of Sussex slipped during this discussion: “If there was ever a time in my life when my race was more interested in it, it wasn’t until I started dating my husband. Then I started to understand what it was like to be treated like a black woman. Because until then, I had been treated like a mixed-race woman. And things have really changed.“Following these remarks, Mariah Carey replied:”As a mixed-race woman, I’ve always thought it should be okay to say I’m mixed-race.
