Canal+ launches two new channels

If this season Canal+ will offer “the best of each discipline” of its sports rights catalog (Champions League, F1 and MotoGP races, Top 14 posters, etc.) on its premium channel (excluding Ligue 1) and maintains Canal+ Sport (essentially motorsport and rugby), the encrypted channel today launches two new channels, Canal+ Sport 360 and Canal+ Foot. A decision announced in The Team by Thomas Sénécal, the new sports director, when he took office last July.

Canal+ Sport 360, which replaces Canal+ Décalé (the channel stopped broadcasting on August 29), promises in its communication “the greatest thrills of sport” with the MotoGP World Championship (excluding the race broadcast on Canal+), the WRC, the Saturday evening poster (9 p.m.) of L1 and Lille-Nice this Wednesday evening, sailing with the Sail GP, the World Padel Tour or again the Eurobasket which starts this Thursday… Like Canal+ Décalé, the channel will be provided in the basic offer of Canal+.

Canal+ Foot, bringing together the entire football offer, will be accessible to all Canal+ Sport subscribers. This will be launched today at 6.45 p.m., upstream of Toulouse-PSG, with a “kick-off” evening presented by Hervé Mathoux. The channel will be totally dedicated to football competitions (Premier League, two L1 matches, D1 Arkema, the Europa League or Europa League Conference poster, France U23 team, etc.) but will only offer the best Tuesday poster in Exclusive Champions League (the Wednesday one will also be broadcast on the premium channel).

On the occasion of these launches and until September 3 (9 p.m.), the two new channels will be accessible in clear via the Orange, Free, SFR or Bouygues boxes and the Canal+ Foot channel available for all Canal + subscribers. To launch the Champions League (two best posters co-broadcast by RMC Sport), the PSG-Juventus and Tottenham-OM matches will exceptionally both be scheduled on the premium channel.
